Robredo Proves a Big Hit in Shanghai

Spaniard Tommy Robredo paid an advance visit to Shanghai last week to promote the 2007 Tennis Masters Cup, the prestigious circuit-ending championship.

Robredo took part in a press conference where he discussed his favorite design of the 10 Tennis Masters Cup Welcome Ceremony options with local television personality and on-court interviewer Wang Dong.

The 25-year-old greeted 30 Tennis Masters Cup ball kids and promising junior players on the roof of the Hilton hotel and dined at Finestra – No. 15 The Bund in the evening.

Robredo is currently No. 12 in the ATP 2007 Race and will be hoping to book his place at Tennis Masters Cup Shanghai for the second year running. Last year he finished with a 1-2 record in Gold Group round robin action.

Roger Federer, Rafael Nadal and Novak Djokovic have already qualified for Tennis Masters Cup Shanghai, leaving five singles spots up for grabs in the remaining two months of the ATP season.
