DOUBLES QUALIFIERS

Mark Knowles & Daniel Nestor

Mark Knowles (pictured on the ground) and Daniel Nestor were the second team to qualify for Tennis Masters Cup Shanghai. It is the fifth time the Bahamian-Canadian duo has secured a place in the circuit-ending championships.

Knowles and Nestor, currently No. 2 in the Stanford ATP Doubles Race, captured their first title of 2007 at Roland Garros – also their first at the clay court Grand Slam – and in their next tournament appearance won their 39th team title at Queen’s Club.

Both players reached the 600-win plateau over the summer, Nestor at his home country tournament in Montreal and Knowles at the US Open.

The pair turned in their best finish at the Tennis Masters Cup last year when they reached the final. They also advanced to the semifinals in 2003 and 2004.
