Black-Ullyett move into semis

Zimbabwean duo Wayne Black and Kevin Ullyett moved through to the semifinals of the Tennis Masters Cup after defeating Wimbledon champions Stephen Huss and Wesley Moodie to top the Gold Group on Wednesday.

Black and Ullyett, last year's runners-up, came through 3-6, 7-6(1), 6-2 to maintain their perfect 2-0 record in the group.

Meanwhile, Michael Llodra and Fabrice Santoro's 7-6(3), 6-4 victory over second seeds Jonas Bjorkman and Max Mirnyi kept their hopes of a semifinal berth alive, while ending Bjorkman and Mirnyi's hopes of finishing the year as the No. 1 doubles team.

Bjorkman and Mirnyi needed to win the title to have a chance of overtaking top seeds Bob and Mike Bryan in the ATP Doubles Race, but their second loss of the tournament means they cannot reach the semifinals.

Llodra and Santoro will now meet Huss and Moodie in the final Round Robin match on Friday to determine who will join Black and Ullyett in the semifinals.
